Donations reach £2,000!

The “Tour de Vet” fundraising total currently stands at just over £2,000! But we still have a way to go to reach our target…

We are aiming to raise £10,000 to train a puppy from earliest beginnings to a fully trained Canine Partner. These dogs make a big difference:

Why?

“I was stuck, I couldn’t go any further. As I sat waiting to go home from a clinic appointment my house keys slipped to the floor. They might have well have been miles away. I started to cry.

Then suddenly this large black dog with soft brown eyes handed me my keys. Then he went back to his owner. She talked to me, and explained all about her dog and where he was from. Canine Partners. I applied and after I had completed the application process, Taska was in my life.

She looks to me with those same loving eyes I saw on that magical day when my nightmares became dreams again. The floor isn’t far away at all, just one dog’s length away, and a willing happy tail wag accompanies whatever I needed to pick up. Now instead of being the broken nurse in the chair, I am the nurse with the dog.”

The Tour de Vet is a Blood Pressure coaching/CPD tour starting in Worthing on the 19th May and ending at the Vettrust Conference in Stirling 3 weeks and 1300 miles later.

Mike Brampton from Thames Medical is cycling the country bringing his unique brand of hands on coaching in Blood Pressure techniques to practices in exchange for a substantial donation to the charity Canine Partners, in place of his usual University lecturer’s fees.

At a recent BVNA, 85% of nurses said they wanted more skills and information in BP techniques so here is your chance to book some quality, certified, hands on CPD at a massively reduced price, which will benefit not only your staff and practice but help train a puppy for Canine Partners.
